LEDGER is a full double-entry accounting system. Every transaction maintains the fundamental equation: Assets = Liabilities + Equity. Debits always equal credits. All data is stored locally in your browser (localStorage). Export JSON backups regularly.
Getting Started
Begin by reviewing your Chart of Accounts — pre-loaded with standard accounts. Then record your opening balances via Journal Entries.
- Review Chart of Accounts (add/edit as needed)
- Record opening balances in Journal
- Enter daily transactions as journal entries
- Check Trial Balance stays balanced
- Generate P&L and Balance Sheet for reports

- Click + New Entry on Journal page
- Select debit account + amount
- Select credit account + amount
- Amounts must match — system checks this
- Add description and date, then save

- Assets + Expenses = Debit normal balance
- Liabilities + Equity + Revenue = Credit normal balance
- Add custom accounts with + New Account
